If you sign up for a Hive NYs account, you may also provide us with your name, photos, links to your social media accounts, age, hobbies, habits, occupation, and a short bio.
If you make a payment on the Services, your payment-related information, such as credit card or other financial information, may be collected by a third party payment processor on our behalf.
If you participate in a Virtual Tour, we may record the tour for quality control purposes.
We also automatically collect certain types of information about you or your device when you interact with our Services.
Cookie. We and third party partners collect information using cookie, pixel tags, or similar technologies. Our third party partners, such as analytics and advertising partners, may use these technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across different services. We also ask you to send us additional information (such as your driver’s license, credit card or bank statement, a recent utility bill, an employment agreement, pay stub, tax return or other information), or to answer additional questions online to help verify your information.
Other Third Parties. We might also receive information about you from other sources. Examples of this information may include: information from social media services that we have integrated into our Services (e.g., Facebook); page-view information from merchants with which we operate co-branded businesses or for which we provide technical, fulfillment, advertising, or other services; and information from partners like Zillow and Trulia who share your search term and search result information with us.
If you choose to link our Services to a third-party account, we may receive information about you, including your name, email address, profile photo, and your linking of the third-party account. User Profiles and Content. Our Service enable connections between users (members, guarantors, and other users)and between users and landlords. Your name and other profile information will always be viewable and searchable by other users. Anonymized information may also be made publicly available on our website (for example, we show anonymized roommate profiles for properties). Any content you post to the Services will be displayed on the Services and viewable by other users by default.
Although your profile is public by default, below in the “Your Choices” section of this Privacy Policy, we describe the controls that you can use, along with other relevant settings associated with your account, to limit the sharing of certain information. We are not responsible for the other users’ use of available information, so you should carefully consider whether and what to post or how you identify yourself on the Services.
Sharing Between Users. You may communicate and share information with other users (members, guarantors, and other users) and landlords through our chat services.
Business Transfers. If we are acquired by or merged with another company, if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, we may transfer the information we have collected from you to the acquiring company. We may also disclose and transfer information about you to service providers, advisors, potential transactional partners, or other third parties in connection with the consideration, negotiation, or completion of the corporate transaction.
Compliance with Law and Fraud Protection. We may access, preserve, and disclose your information if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to: (a) comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; (b) respond to your requests; or (c) protect your, our, or others’ rights, property, or safety. Our Services are hosted in the United States and intended for visitors located within the United States.
